Driven by a lifelong passion for everything automotive and years of owning classic and supercars, I noticed a striking void in the market: an complete lack of elevated document storage tailored to exceptional vehicles.
In an era where collector cars are rightfully cherished as tangible art and investment assets, a vehicle’s provenance and history file are paramount. Chassis & Hide was founded on a simple principle: a car’s history file should never be an afterthought. It should be as bespoke, beautifully crafted, and intrinsically connected to the machine as the drive itself."
The Problem: Provenance Deserves Better
When you take delivery of an exceptional motor car, whether an air-cooled classic or a high-revving V12, you aren’t just buying a machine; you are becoming the custodian of a story. Every service invoice, original build sheet, inspection report, and historic logbook forms the DNA of that vehicle's provenance.
Yet, for decades, a striking disconnect has existed. Vehicles engineered to the highest standards often have their precious history stuffed into frayed paper folders, generic ring binders, or cheap, disintegrating plastic dealer wallets.
An extraordinary car’s paperwork shouldn't be an afterthought. It deserves to be protected and presented with the same reverence, artistry, and obsessive attention to detail as the vehicle itself.
The Origin: Bridging Automotive Art & Fine Leatherwork
The idea for our document portfolios was born out of a desire to create a permanent, beautiful home for vehicle provenance, something built to endure as long as the cars themselves.
We set out to design a bespoke portfolio that matches the elevated standards of fine automotive design:

Cars have never been just a passing interest for me; they are the thread that runs through my entire professional life and personal drive.
My journey in the automotive world spans years of collaborating with iconic luxury and performance brands, including Porsche, Maserati, and Alpine. Working alongside these marques gave me an intimate understanding of brand heritage, design language, and the exacting standards expected by true enthusiasts.
Through my social media platform and automotive page, @e15ner, I’ve spent years documenting vehicle ownership, event coverage, and automotive photography. Being an active owner and custodian of iconic sports cars myself, I know first-hand the pride that comes with documenting every mile, service, and milestone.
